Bryan Seas was named senior vice president and chief accounting officer for AGL Resources (NYSE:GAS) in March 2011. His responsibilities include leading the company’s corporate accounting, corporate taxation and financial reporting functions as well as the middle office functions for the company’s wholesale and retail businesses. In his prior position, he served as senior vice president, controller and chief accounting officer.

Mr. Seas joined AGL Resources in July 2003 as vice president and controller, and has more than 20 years of accounting and finance experience in the energy industry. His primary focus is process improvement in all functional areas within his organization. Most notably, his team implemented significant improvements in the company’s tax and payables processing procedures. Mr. Seas is an advocate for change and, under his leadership, his team is delivering value to AGL Resources.

Prior to joining the company, Mr. Seas held various positions with El Paso Corporation for almost 10 years. As vice president and controller of El Paso’s Global Power group, Mr. Seas was responsible for accounting, financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting for the group, which had domestic and international power assets. As El Paso’s director of corporate accounting, Mr. Seas directed the general accounting, technical accounting research and financial systems services of the company.

Mr. Seas also spent time as director of accounting for Southern Natural Gas Company, as corporate controller for Sonat Inc., and in public accounting with Ernst and Young.

Mr. Seas received his bachelor of science degree from Ohio State University in 1986 and became a certified public accountant in 1991.

A native of Columbus, Ohio, Mr. Seas lives in Alpharetta, Ga., with his wife and two children.
